the thomas j. dale bridge.

the bike-friendly confederation parkway bridge got a name!

the thomas j. dale bridge.

(maybe the street itself will one day soon get a name change that represents its realities and potentials as a street, not a “parkway”)

here are some pictures that celebrate its bikeability:

  1. It’s a shame they did not physically separate the bike lane from the roadway, since the space was available. That being said, I guess we’ll take what we can get!!!

  2. yeah, when i visited the bridge during its construction it looked to me like the lane was going to be separated. so i too was a little disappointed – it could have set a nice little precedent.
it is too bad, because confederation south of the 403 is definitely wide enough – and once it is all developed and more of a “street” it’d be a nice set up.
    ah well.
a lane is still a lane.
